I like how Hash think the US government will spend his wealth in a more beneficial way to society than his children when he dies. Either he thinks that his kids would waste it all on hookers and blow, or he has a misplaced faith in the federal government to wisely spend the resources that he has accumulated. Either way his one-size fits all plan for the government to confiscate all inheritances, is pretty retarded.DBTrek wrote:Martin Hash wrote:The whole preservation of wealth idea is what leads to aristocracies. Any pikers reading this are nothing compared to the Nouveau Aristocracy. A tiny bit of greed on your part results in serfdom for all but the 1%. Everyone would be MUCH better off if opportunity was released back into the economy on a continuous basis.StCapps wrote:I like how Hash think the US government will spend his wealth when he dies in more beneficial way to society than his children, that's shit is hilarious. No they wouldn't because they would just hide their money, so you can't confiscate it, you'll just turn inheritance into a black market, and you'll hurt innovation, not help it. People like to leave shit for their kids to enjoy, it's one of big reasons many people go out of their way to accumulate wealth in the first place, it won't be better for everyone if you tell them to go fuck themselves, Hash knows best, just give it to the government.Martin Hash wrote:Any pikers reading this are nothing compared to the Nouveau Aristocracy. Nothing wrong with aristocracy, as long as merit allows one to become part of that aristocracy. Noblesse Oblige.Martin Hash wrote:Accumulating wealth is a good thing? WTF. You'll be the richest man in the graveyard unless your goal is to make your offspring part of the aristocracy.
Said like a true Canadian. The House of Windsor certainly "deserve" their vast wealth. God save the Queen.StCapps wrote:Nothing wrong with aristocracy, as long as merit allows one to become part of that aristocracy.Martin Hash wrote:Accumulating wealth is a good thing? WTF. Noblesse Oblige. Americans are way too knee jerk on the anti-aristocracy tip, there will always be an aristocracy, you can't get rid of it, trying to eliminate aristocracy from existence is a fools errand. You might as well try to put a stop to all poverty or war, no matter how hard you squeeze your butt cheeks together, it is never going to happen.Martin Hash wrote:Said like a true Canadian. Maybe but the United States was founded on the idea that there is no Class system, explicit or de facto. (Though I agree the hypocrisy was rampant.)StCapps wrote:Noblesse Oblige.
