Since both winners & losers are expected to apologize, I'd like to make it more uniform. Germany got the shit hammered out of them in WWI & WWII, so every time a president visits Germany, both sides should apologize to the other, and in both cases, Germany got it way worse from America than America got from Germany so America needs to apologize louder, maybe twice, and preferably while the president is on his knees. Very similar situation for Japan. Just put this Apology Showdown in the "expectations" list so no one has to wonder if apologies are forthcoming.
Also, we could make a “Big Ol' Apology” list, then each president can read down the list on the day of inauguration so that it won't have to come up again until the next president. Unless the whole idea of an apology is to get money? If money or special treatment is the reason for the apology then just leave the apology out & get right down to negotiating. We can have a whole Free Money or Special Treatment team on staff full time working out settlements with victim groups. To help the process out, I propose a list of victimhoods that every American can access & sign up for: Free Money & Special Treatment for everyone!
