Middle vs. Center

Since the metaphors of Right and Left are so common in political parlance, many people who claim to be neither naturally the call themselves "center." I don't because center implies a linear spectrum: instead I call myself "middle" because it implies a circle. We're anti-authoritarians in the middle of the circle surrounded by authoritarians: Marxists, Socialists, Fascists, Theists, even Libertarians are de facto authoritarians because their beliefs end up supporting Fascism. I haven't met a lot of people here in the middle, probably because there's not a lot of room to stand.
