Even fervent Marxists will agree that in most environments, Capitalism is unequaled in its ability to stimulate economic growth and the social benefits that come from it. The argument socialists have with Capitalism is that it inevitably stratifies & concentrates wealth, but that’s not the most dangerous side-effect... The fatal problem with unregulated Capitalism is that everything is for sale: natural resources, harvests, ports, technology, business, real estate, even military contracts; nothing is off-limits.
Communist China exploited this fundamental flaw through the power of "Free" Trade which resulted in them receiving $trillions so they were able to buy up America: the news, media & entertainment, the education system, and most egregiously, its government. Then China decided that America needs to be Communist, and Capitalism was willing to sell liberty too.

I don't think I'm a pessimist; hell, I'm the most optimistically naïve guy I know; I'm just explaining insights as I comprehend them.
I like Capitalism but's it's dangerous. I like government regulation but that's dangerous too. We need to live in a tiny boundary between the two, and we did for a few decades.

This resonates, man. Despite our disagreements on fascism/Marxism, I think you hit a home run here. It’s why I prefer free markets to capitalism. Once capitalism and big government collude together to advance themselves at the expense of everything else - it’s all downhill.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 10:22 amEven fervent Marxists will agree that in most environments, Capitalism is unequaled in its ability to stimulate economic growth and the social benefits that come from it.
