I practiced meditation for a little over a year.
Not that new age crap, but the REAL meditation.
You know - Headspace ... from the Apple store.

It was alright, but I didn't reap the many benefits that it seemed to bestow upon others.
I'm still the same jerk I was.
And I was mindful of that before spending 10 mins a day breathing about it.
How are you all holding up in the age of COVID?
Home schooling?

If that sounded dickheadish my bad man. It was not my intention. You made a thread on the forum discussing this with us all awhile back, but you said things were getting better. I was just checking in to see how you were holding up. This particular thread was a poor place to post this, which I see now, but it is the first place I've seen activity from you in a coon's age.

How are things in the Great White North?
Ok...

Things are good.
My wife and had some difficult times... but we are stronger than ever.
The kids are teens now... and they are not loving being homebound with online school and social distancing...
So that has made life harder.

My daughter is being a real bitch to my wife right now... because she is a lonely and insecure teenager... so I get it...
But it's hard on the wife... She's holding up all right all things considered.

That's about it...

What's up with you HeyDay?
Not much. Just being an "essential" worker and doing school stuff online. Trying to stay healthy. My internet has gotten a lot better (it was down most of the day I guess from everyone using it at home at once for the last 2 or 3 weeks) but I've been reading a lot which is a side benefit.

I got suspended from homeschooling duties after setting up my daughters school desk in the garage. We had to provide a picture of her learning environment and label the items in the picture as an assignment.

Apparently my man-garage, and the manly articles therein, might not reflect the community expectations of the accommodations befitting one the top realtors in the area (my wife).

"But it's real. It's where we really live. It's what is really in the garage."

"Her classmates all have carpeted rooms. It can make things awkward for her among her peers, looking like she has to work from a dim and grimy place. She can use my office It's clean. There aren't any spiders."

Thus ended my tenure as home-schooler.

My daughter was already hitting a rebellious stage before COVID...
Now she has decided this is the hill to take a stand on.

My wife responded by a sudden confiscation of revolutionary materials... i.e. cellphone privileges... and full insurrection resulted.

Counter insurgency measures are in effect.

Hearts and Minds are strewn all over the place in the form of collateral damage.

Interesting times... and little in the way of "learning environment" modifications are likely to result in much change.
Although my daughter will claim she hates the décor in this house and that's why she's not going to do any work.
Direct sniper attack on my wife's house pride... and she's down again. :(

Dang, Dr. Y.
I'm gonna miss the child stage. I love being loved by my kids.

Hope the war wounds wind up being superficial in the long run.

I think the point of contention was the "Garage Junk" label applied to my raw material stash.

I mean, I guess we could've labelled it "Raw material source for any sudden projects requiring wood, metal, glass, or plastic" but that seemed a little heavy for a 1st grade assignment.

It's hardest on my wife...
I don't mind if the kids claim to hate me during a battle. I know they love me. They don't need me to be their friend. They need me to be solid and to love and protect them.
But my wife has poured all her love into these kids and when they throw her under the bus it causes her enormous pain.
She never rebelled against her parents... mostly because they gave her nothing to rebell against. They were stone cold and underprotective.
So the kids rebellion is completely baffling to her.

And I hate to see them hurt her...
But I understand their need to rebell...

So this sucks.

We never had that problem: my daughter was 35 and still lived at home.
