It means turning nature into your God. Idolatry.

From what I have seen, Gaians actually are just hedonists in point of fact, so even the environmentalism is a farce.

Not a left meme...

It's a Jungian Archetype.

The divine feminine...

She is the healer, unconditional love, feminine principle.
Committed to loving and healing all... with no expectations.

Lefties are in the grip of this archetype with their preoccupation with the welfare of all... and their aversion to conflict, discipline and restraint.

But without the other Divinities - Gaia is out of balance.

We need Mars (war god) and Saturn (the god of discipline and constraint)... and Mercury (god of commerce and communication)... and Dionysus (god of wine and ecstacy)... basically other archetypes... I'm not a pagan.

A society needs more than a bunch of helicopter parents worrying about every nick and scratch and fearful of guns and playfighting.

These archetypes are polarized in our society today... and the cult of Gaia is ascendant and out of balance.

I’m just calling a spade a spade here. A People’s History isn’t history. It’s politics.
Fair enough. I agree with that, but I'm not opposed to politics, and I still respect Zinn for doing his duty, in what was an extremely dangerous and dirty job in World War Two.
Sure ... he fought for the right to freely lie about America and become rich, and also my right to call him an asshole and say “Fuck Zinn”. On that front we’re all good.

VDH didn't cherry-pick examples to make his case in Carnage and Culture?

Never read it.
It isn’t America’s best selling “History” book.

It's rather critical in conservative thought, though. I happen to agree with the thesis, but I can tell you for a fact he left out some glaring counterexamples.

Government by Jungian archetype will have hippies running amok baked into that cake, so if you're operating within that paradigm, I would get comfortable with the left wing kooks being ascendant, as government by Jungian archetype is left wing kookery in of itself.

No offence, just sayun'

Absolutely, I have no quarrel with that, I said I found Zinn to be annoying, I simply cut him respect for going over the targets in a B-17, to me, that's paying your dues. If you can sell books and make a mint after doing that, more power to you. I didn't actually buy his book tho, my father had a copy kicking around.

What is government by Jungian archetype?

The whole concept of government is a social phenomenon that arises organically from human interactions...

Chiefs, Tribal leaders, Monarchs... and what all came after that... the shitstorm from the dawn of the Revolutionary age.

Jungian archetypes are just a way of abstracting the human instincts that come in to play.

All human behaviour arises from human nature after all.

Think of the term Nanny state... that's just the state being a Nanny...
Nanny = Gaia... The state as a maternally preoccupied helicopter parent.
Jungian archetype in play.

Fair enough, although when I say "Nanny", I mean Queen Victoria.

You're right, it's the Victorian helicopter parent which I can no longer abide.

I don't want to live under the yoke of 19th century bible thumping no more, no more.
