I've never met anyone on this forum or otherwise who doesn't equate wealth & fame with wisdom. Fame is the most important ingredient but wealth is a close second. Actual tested knowledge & experience count for nothing in most people's minds. That's why I hesitate to debate the position on a platform like FB.
I don't even really know what wisdom is. I'm not so wise.

I just tried to survive, till I found the right woman to settle down with.

Exactly.

The best soldiers I ever trained, the best soldier I ever knew; dead.

In case anyone is curious, I say that wisdom is "knowledge, experience & self-awareness, the more the wiser." There are probably Lurkers on FB who agree with that definition but posters are universally enamored to wisdom = fame + money, or in the religious case, wisdom = fame + morals.

p.s. A "wise" person is someone you'll take advice from.

I'm willing to listen to any advice, but the content is all that matters.

I won't take anything under advisement which is not cogent.

I find that most people invoke nothing but fallacies, usually glaring.

Ergo, I just have to make the call myself, the Buck Stops Here, I'm the Decider.

It's like my wife has far more wisdom than I do, she's much more mature and considerate.

I'm actually a rather reckless rock n' roller.

Yet in any crisis, my wife looks to me to make the call, because in any crisis, I stand to as the commander.

If there's no stand to? Smoke em' if you got em'

Most people can get a dog & dope on their own without advice; what the hell do they need wise people for?

I don't even recall anybody ever giving me much advice.

And what advice there was, I pretty much did the opposite.

I was a defiant rock n' roller from a young age.

I just put the pedal to the metal to see how fast you can go.

You and everyone else, me included; that's why wisdom has no cachet: unless you can get rich or famous from it, who cares? Dog & dope, man.

There was a time when I was young when men stood on the moon; it will never happen again.
