Global Warming

I am of the certain opinion that there is either global warming or global cooling. I am tired of even hearing about the controversy – of course global warming or cooling is real! There is amply sufficient scientific evidence that the earth goes through frequent (in geological time) episodes of warming or cooling, so get used to it – everything is going to change dramatically soon (in geological time), climatically speaking.

What is not real is the political demagoguery that we are experiencing at the international level. An old trick to usurp power from a democracy is to claim an emergency then declare marshal law – with yourself as the marshal, of course. The rest of the world wants America muzzled, mostly due to reasons of envy and resentment, and if we let their apologists in America triumph, the specter of global warming or cooling will be the club used to beat us down.

If the goal is to conserve energy in America, there are plenty of engineering and management opportunities available to us – it simply requires honest leadership. For example, if gasoline is the problem, nationalize the natural resource then charge the true price for a gallon; if electricity is the problem then adopt nuclear power, and; if too many people is the problem then promote birth control with a vengeance. All of these solutions can be implemented within or outside our borders – it only requires political will - no Overarching World Authority need apply.
