Portland is the most liberal commie city in America, thus it's called the PRP(People Republic of Portland)

Not only should we talk about the correlation between Marxism and Gun Control, but IMO, more specifically how they go about getting control of weapons and why. Why must be understood first. Marxists always work to get Gun Control as a means to monopolize the use of force.

The Bolsheveiks negotiated to get the Imperial Army to sit on the sidelines, promising them they would be treated well. Then they created their own militia that combined elements of both the Army and Police, a year later they confiscated weapons from the military, then ordered all weapons turned in.

Other tactics of Collectivists are to chip away at rights, identify, isolate and disarm key groups, them move on to other groups. This appears to be the chosen method to disarm the USA.

Antifa in Portland walks around with long guns in broad day light. They did the same thing in Charlottesville and evenly admit to waving their gun at James Feild right before he crashed his car.

The far left doesnt really seem to be about gun control, what with their "arm the proletariat class" mantra, topped with the pro civil war stance they are currently taking. True Marxists probably don't want to eliminate guns though you will no doubt find them in support of some sort of gun control, ostensibly to get guns away from crazy people (dishonestly or not, knowing full well the ramifications of this and how "racists" would be barred from gun ownership.)

Anyway, no the far left including the much vaunted "marxist" real or otherwise does not want to disarm the proletariat class. The people that want to disarm the proletariat class are the rootless cosmopolitans. The elite. The ruling oligarchy. The far left is simply incapable of realizing that they have for a long time been a arm of the oligarchy. The oligarchy shuns nationalism with a passion, for good reason.

ND
I said the overriding intent was to monopolize the use of force, and that in the USA, it was to selective punish and remove weapons from select groups.

All this stuff about having mental health controls on guns is about an end goal of taking guns away from Veterans. They can make a case that all Veterans have PTSD, thereby taking away Constitutional Rights with Administrative actions.

Yeah I agree, the larger point is the selection of who has the right to bear arms. Something America regards as abhorrent and rightly so. I just wanted to point out that far left and Marxists even do not believe in no guns. Your point is correct, they just want to be the ones with all the guns.

Yeah, it's got nothing to do with reducing the number of mass shootings from guys with mental illnessess. It's all about taking guns from veterans and far right nut jobs.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Monty, if you used that argument against something you personally care about, then I think you'd see how fucked up it is. Somehow, because the poor argument is used against guns, you do not see it.

What I see is case after case of guys with mental illnessess shooting up schools, nightclubs shopping malls etc.
There is no way to prove whether stricter controls would work in the States unless they are passed across the whole country.
It's no good having strict controls in "liberal cities" if you can buy guns with no background check or cooling off period at an out of town gun show and then return to the city fully armed.

Replace guns in your argument with "trucks of peace".

Or, really, just Muslims.

Homeland Security Classifies Returning US Veterans as Potential Terrorist Threat
…...returning Military Veterans and those individuals that are proponents of “States Rights” or those that oppose the growth of the Federal Government as “Right Wing Extremists”. See the footnote at the end of page 2 of the report, “Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely.https://www.wnd.com/images/dhs-rightwing-extremism.pdf
Veterans around the country are receiving letters from the federal government informing them that because of alleged physical or mental disability their financial decisions will be made by a government-appointed “fiduciary” and they will be forbidden from “purchasing, possessing, receiving or transporting a firearm or ammunition.”

Yeah, they are scared of Veterans and don't want them armed.
Reminds me of one of the better Star Trek Next Gen Episodes where the planet took all their Veterans and imprisoned them on a Moon after the war.

Well if you had a decent healthcare system you could treat the PTSD and you wouldn't need to restrict their access to guns.
In virtually every war since WWII that British troops have been involved in there have been fewer battlefield deaths during the conflict than suicides amongst the veterans of those wars.

Pretty sure I'd have been mentally ill if I had been shot up at Goose Green too.

Monty demonstrates yet again why an electorate completely ignorant of war and armed forces doesn't belong in a voting booth at the national level.
