Taxes Aren't Necessary
Because money is imaginary, as long as production matches consumption, no taxes are necessary: issue money as needed.
The 2 problems are dishonesty & savings. Dishonesty, both fiscal & actual, is due to lack of feedback in government spending. Savings is problematic because the money on balance sheets could far outpace the nation’s gross wealth. Inflation will be manageable for commodities, but status & investment items will be volatile.

Money printing IS production. The 'goods/services' are created out of thin air, lowering the value of all other goods/services. This is how inflation works.

Inflation in a Free Market system occurs when more people want something than there is available. We have way over-capacity of most commodities.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Money printing IS production. I've always been against vast accumulations of wealth, saving for retirement, and status-seeking, so inflation is not the bugaboo to me that it is to Royalists.

Take another look at the supply/demand curve.Martin Hash wrote:Inflation in a Free Market system occurs when more people want something than there is available.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Money printing IS production. The opposite of what you just said.We have way over-capacity of most commodities.
It's not a problem unless you have money, I guess.I've always been against vast accumulations of wealth, saving for retirement, and status-seeking, so inflation is not the bugaboo to me that it is to Royalists.

Well, there's *something* imaginary going on here.

Economics is soothsaying, not science. People live in a mass delusion of self-interest & confirmation bias. Understanding reality requires you subsume both your pride and your fear.

Does this tie into Fife’s “spontaneously self-generating roads/deer roads” theory somehow?

Fife is a free-riding Royalist who thinks a small group of people justifiably own everything and take most of the opportunity. I say print money rather than collect taxes but keep doing all the things that increase productivity and expand opportunity.
p.s. The Top 20% still get taxed but that's for opportunity redistribution, not infrastructure.

Just print money?
German hyper-inflation?
