Politicians

Bashing politicians is a sport, and everybody can do it! There is little rationality in most complaints, especially the ones you hear in the media, because the media is entertainment, and entertainment has its own set of rules that are not the same as the rules in logical debate. Professionals follow the rules of the field they are in: entertainment, business, academia, and politics. In fact, entertainment has a different set of rules than business, which has a different set of rules than academia, and of course, politics has its own set of rules. The “problem” with politicians is quite obvious – politics is a popularity contest! In that light, explained like that, politicians are quite good at their jobs, or they would lose the popularity contest at election time. Politicians are like they are, and cannot be changed until the rules change.
