Gas Prices

Post by Martin Hash » Sun Mar 14, 2010 11:52 am

First off, if you drink water out of a plastic bottle, we can’t even have a reasonable discussion. Second, what kind of gas mileage does your car get? Most people won’t even see a $1000 difference in yearly gas cost per $1 increase – you probably spend more than that buying fast food. Do you know gas costs more in Africa than it does here? Third: how much do you pay for auto insurance? Those people give you absolutely nothing for the money you pay them – that’s who I’d be complaining about. Finally, I believe energy is one of the “Big 3” areas that should be socialized, (and I’m a diehard anti-socialist). Energy is just as essential to society as military is – even more so – and I sure wouldn’t accept a privatized military. Gas is cheap at almost any price, it hasn't even really kept up with inflation over the years - we simply need to get in control of the supply. Foreign ownership of strategic U.S. oil is absolutely anathemic. However we ween ourselves of the addiction is acceptable.
