Stimulus

Anybody who does not think the Obama Stimulus is working is being disingenuous. Of course it’s working – look around, this isn’t what a depression looks like. It’s impossible to prove a negative, but it’s a close bet that without the stimulus we would indeed be in a depression. America has seen several depressions in its history, and this is not one of them. There are even “Help Wanted” signs going up in stores and shops again – how long has that been? Unfortunately, we are still not far enough into a recovery to stop injecting stimulus money – mostly in the form of extended unemployment benefits. Until the majority of those unemployed workers are back on the job, a depression still looms. It’s like a rocket trying to get out of Earth’s gravity – not enough boost and the whole thing just falls back to the ground. I am hopeful though, and so should you be, that recovery will not take more than a year or two – a remarkably short time, considering.
