Immigration: The More The Merrier?

Some pro-immigrant arguments are of the the-more-the-merrier variety. They cite studies that conclude that more-n-more immigrants of any kind make a country wealthier & wealthier. I submit that is patently untrue but maybe I'm wrong, so let's see if all the Climate Change refugees from Bangladesh & other low-lying countries make where they end up wealthier? I bet they don't. I bet it causes all kinds of hell-on-earth so that the pro-immigrants then counter-intuitively use their the-more-the-merrier argument to bring them here?! Why? How come those refugees didn't the-more-the-merrier where they already were?
