That is all fine and good. What I don't understand is where the money is coming from to pay for my impressment on the state's clean-up gangs if the tax base is hollowed out so as 'ma & pa' can pay me in scrip.

Is the state just printing money to pay me, and then taxing a portion to pay me tomorrow? Meanwhile every private employer is working out a different form of compensation with wildly fluctuating exchange values... how is this a functioning economy?

How can you deracinate wage protections and build a general fund from taxes for a safety net at the same time?

People under $50K shouldn't be paying taxes at all, and certainly shouldn't be paying taxes on the first dollar they earn. 99.7% of business in small business means that all those people must pay Self-Employment tax on top of their 10% rate (most small businesses make squat, maybe $20K a year) so their real tax rate is 20%. The wealthiest people in this nation take all their money as Longterm Capital Gains, so they pay 15%. What a fucking sorry state of affairs.

The Social Safety Net, paid for out of the General Fund, is there to make sure you live a comfortable though possibly meager life. There are a whole lot of folks who just want to work their 8 & get high everyday.

Do you really believe that society should pay wages while employers pay people in coupons? You're literally okay that we now have more jobs that pay shit than at any other point in our history, that we have to provide welfare to people working full time jobs?

When everyone is making coupons and nobody has any money to pay taxes or buy any goods, who will provide the safety net?
