The U.S. doesn't have to sanction torture. Bradley Manning had his balls cut off because he thought he was "doing the right thing'" and Edward Snowden gave up a successful life & beautiful fiancé, and if the time came, and 2 men were in a room: 1 who knew where the bomb was & the other with a pair of pliers, we'd know where that bomb was soon enough & pliers-guy would gladly go to prison to provide the life-saving information.
