Re: What is “Good” Art?
I tend to just focus on my own art, whether it be illustration, or writing, or even home decor
I'm not really snobby about it, I just know what I like

Re: What is “Good” Art?
The thing that I notice most about those that appreciate ‘fine’ art or music is the depth of their understanding. And, of course, the pretense of rich asshats that want to imitate it.
To an ignorant layman, whatever ‘sounds good’ is the best music. To a musician, it’s more about the innovation or difficulty of the performance.
Same for paintings. Being a layman, I can certainly appreciate the technical skill of Rembrandt, but I need an expert or aficionado to point out what makes Van Gogh so interesting. (It’s actually pretty amazing once you understand it).
It’s not elitism or snobbery to have a deeper knowledge of the subject and attempt to share it. Even laughing at the morons from time to time, when they try to argue about what’s ‘good’. Just the nature of reality - perception and knowledge matter.
Re Shakespeare: sure it sounds dumb now, but iambic pentameter is pretty amazing. It’s like writing an entire movie into a song verse format.

Re: What is “Good” Art?
Probably. I wouldn’t measure the artistic value of music by the number of albums sold.
