Right now, all the money printing enriches The 1%. All the ways to use the same technique to enrich the 99% are being called "pork" and "tax loopholes." They are the ultimate free-riders on society.DBTrek wrote:How is the situation helped by speed-printing money and distributing it among the citizens for doing nothing?

I don’t understand how people can argue that Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Sam Walton don’t create jobs. Clearly they do.Martin Hash wrote: Right now, all the money printing enriches The 1%. All the ways to use the same technique to enrich the 99% are being called "pork" and "tax loopholes." Mom & Pop create well over 90% of new jobs. Fuck those monopolists who create jobs overseas.DBTrek wrote:I don’t understand how people can argue that Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Sam Walton don’t create jobs. The jobs they create are a small percentage of the total jobs. Most jobs are created by small and medium-sized businesses, and most of those are independently owned.

Yet Walmart is the biggest private employer in America, and Amazon and Microsoft drive considerable employment in my area. So this whole “they don’t create jobs” thing is clearly a lie.
They create thousands, sometimes tens of thousands of direct jobs, and countless jobs in related industries. Without question they create infinitely more jobs than a bunch of people pan-handling from the government for $30k handouts every year because they think they can have magic “free” money that won’t affect prices.

Do you really believe Walmart, Apple, Amazon, And Microsoft don’t create jobs? That Jeff Bezos is the richest man on Earth for doing nothing?

Dude, there are a fuck ton more jobs out there created by small businesses. Just because Walmart happens to hire more people than most other businesses doesn't somehow refute that. There is only one Walmart and and about a quarter of a hundred million small businesses..
edit:
Forgot the hundred before the million.

As far as printing money.. yeah, that's going to create inflation if it's not done so with a corresponding increase in productivity.
The more capital that goes into people's hands, the higher the prices for shit, since they will just bid up the prices with their new capital. Supply and demand curves are an actual thing.

The claim was that the rich “don’t create jobs”.
I’ve shown they do.
Moving goal posts to “Small businesses make jobs too” is meaningless, since the entire back and forth was over whether or not the rich create jobs.
They do.
The worldview espousing that the rich do not create jobs is provably false.
