Re: Minimum Wage Sucks Because
Where does capital come from if only robots are spending it through their labor? Obviously us humans need to spend capital regardless but where does it come from to keep the robots going while we earn an increasingly smaller portion of it? Of course there could be ways perhaps if we were willing to become robots of a sort and take on the challenge of space colonization. Humans are inherently better suited than a wrote program at adaptability. I suppose a particularly clever AI could come close but nobody has any idea really. I wouldn't want it to either. Free us from our pointless labor perhaps but dictate and supplant our struggle to exist?
Moot point anyway. I've seen the African space project and it's made of paper mache. That's our future right there lol

Nobody would complain that Americans in general are poor, that's just idiocy. But to ignore the fact that our society has the highest wealth inequality since Feudalism is equally stupifying.
Your emo-teen bitching is fucking sad.
Like I said: no argument.
You can't win a debate unless you bring an argument, and thus far, the anti-UBI crowd has brought nothing but insults.
I am perfectly wiling to change my mind. Bring an argument and convince me. Attacking me and insulting me only convinces me that you are wrong and have no coherent argument or alternative whatsoever.

You've advanced no argument.Speaker to Animals wrote:You obviously lost the debate.
Thanks. If anybody wants to argue against it, I am all ears. This weak shit is really boring and tiresome. Have a great time, DB. I am more interested in people with ideas. Thanks, anyway.
You've just sat there like a digital panhandler and waved your "The End Is Nigh" sign. But the end is not nigh. And your narrative is going to need a lot more work before you can force the rest of us to support your first world lifestyle on account of your spooky predictions.
I get it though. If I had no actual argument I could see hiding behind the smokescreen of "people not addressing my (nonexistent) argument". Critics will go away eventually. You can always setup shop on the next street corner and hope for a more receptive audience.

The thing is, you guys don't know either, and you are just nonchalantly blowing it off with an ideological certainty that is only matched by Marxists. There are fanatics that think the government can fix any problem, but there are also fanatics that think the free market is an infallible god. Economic systems come and go. I have no idea if our current system is on its way out, but to just claim that people who are worried about this are lazy pieces of shit is pure Marie Antoinette. I hope you are right.
There might be people who relish the idea of not working, but I am planning my life as though UBI will never happen. If it did, I think it would be terrifying and humiliating to rely on the government for everything. Its not a solution I want. If the people who are predicting these mass automation scenarios are even partially right though, you will have a huge fucking problem on your hands that isn't going to be fixed by John Stossel economics. I would love to hear a libertarian lecture an angry unemployed mob. That would be about as funny as Dinesh D'souza going up to the biggest blackest inmate in jail saying "The real problem with African American culture is entitlement and lack of work ethic..." It doesn't matter if you are ideologically correct at that point. Again, I have no idea if automation will be a problem, but you guys seem to think its not even worth discussing and that anyone who disagrees is worthy of scorn, which is absurd.
Likewise there's nothing here incentivizing me to bestow an education upon you, nor to walk you down the path of thinking this whole preposterous hypothetical through to its logical conclusion, which in turn would demonstrate how ridiculous the whole premise is in the first place.
So I guess you'll just have to live in fear and ignorance or educate and think yourself into a calmer mental state.
/shrug
That was your jackass response to a very good argument. You obviously have nothing to offer here.
Like I said: you can't win a debate without an argument. Spice it up with insults if you want, but if it's all insult, you lost by default -- and you DID lose by default today.

Well who's going to address my demographic replacement concern? Not an argument but let's hear arguments for how pajeets will run NASA suitably while staffed with mestizos and equal opportunity Nigerian hires.

Demographics are shifting in America, so if that's your big fear it's at least based on something.
I grew up in the American Southwest though, where Mexicans, Native Americans, and Europeans have lived together since before the USA was a place. Not always peacefully, maybe . . . but a few hundred years of coexistence can go a long way towards generating mutual respect. I had to travel the US for a while before I understood what all the hand-wringing over race stuff was about - and even now I don't buy into it. America is a culture and a value system to me (though when it's under attack I get riled up). Race is arbitrary.

Race should be arbitrary - but its not not thanks to the DNC. More than half of the adult black population is ignorant as fuck thanks to the destruction of the family unit and the social decay that goes with it - makes them great useful idiots for political hacks - How do you fix that?

Straw man fallacy. You are attempting to change his argument in order to attack something preposterous (which he did not state) in order to derail the discussion and deflect from the fact that you were cornered and had no legitimate response.
