It’s a simple accomplishment but I feel my acquaintance with mosquitoes ranks among the top 10% of mosquito conseuriers, having experienced them on every continent, (except Antarctica which has none). Alaskan mosquitoes are known for their prevalence, parochially known as the state bird, Australian mosquitoes are known for their size; African mosquitoes for their lethality, and Canadian mosquitoes for their ferocity, not even deterred by 100% DEET. They are fearless, voluntarily sacrificing themselves just to get a bite of fried eggs, the little beasties still kicking while I turn the tables on them; luckily, a little extra protein never hurt anyone. Even a mosquito net is vulnerable to their wiles; I still don’t know how they get inside?
