Tasting

Selling alcohol aboard cruise ships is how they make their money; take a cheap cruise, spend twice that much on drinks. Even soda and bottled water can double your tab. But what’s ya gonna do? You're on a cruise ship; there's the pool with the bikinis, mostly men & women who shouldn't be wearing them, and wouldn't otherwise, but it's a cruise, they don't know anybody so nobody cares. And there's eating; lots and lots of eating. There's also gambling but that's not something everyone does; but what everyone does do is drink... Something, mostly alcohol, and why not? It's a cruise. The best way to buy alcohol on a cruise is to sneak some on-board, but that can be embarrassing if you're caught, and anyway, it's a cruise. To save money on drinks and still get a good buzz, go to the Tastings: wine tasting, whisky tasting, rum tasting, vodka tasting, beer tasting; there's even chocolate tasting. My wife, Gwynne, and I buy one round, about the price of a single drink, and share; the bartenders don't care; and even with two people sharing, it's still a good time.
