Musee Des Dinosaures

Post by Martin Hash » Tue Dec 13, 2016 2:09 am

In case anyone hasn't noticed, my wife, Gwynne, & I love to visit sincere but political incorrect zoos, museums & historical sites, so when we found out there was a "dinosaur museum" in Savannakhet, Laos, that was our immediate destination... And our anticipations were gloriously served. Topiary dinosaurs are always a win.

There probably hasn't been any new exhibits since the French were driven out in the 1950s, but, hey, they're making an effort. Basically, it's a couple small rooms of maybe 100 bones from the tail of one of the giant herbivores, a few impressively massive thigh bones, and faded pictures of the Communist Party hierarchy. The most modern thing there was a light-rope in the shape of a brontosaurus, but the displays were clean. It was also serene, there being no other visitors & not even anyone to take our entrance fee. We left it on the old iron desk sitting at the entrance.

Do doggies dream of dinosaur bones?
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.
