There's plenty of books that extol the "500 Places to Go Before You Die," or "100 Must See Cities," etc. All make me feel vaguely inadequate because though I've visited 100+ countries over 40 years of travel & lived overseas for several years, I've never been to most of the places in those books. I suspect only the book's photographer has ever been to most of them. In retaliation, with a whiff of my own braggadocio, here's my list of only 10 must-see animals that you actually could find before heaven calls you home.
1. Gorillas in Africa.
2. Giant Pandas in Asia.
3. The "Big 5" (lion, leopard, rhino, cape buffalo, elephant) in Africa.
4. Lemurs in Madagascar.
5. Polar Bears in the Arctic.
6. Kangaroos in Australia.
7. Penguins in the Antarctic.
8. Piranha in South America.
9. Bison in the North America.
10. Tortoises on the Galapagos Islands.
