Bridal Shops & Baby Stores
If the number of bridal shops & baby stores are any indication, Central Asia is experiencing a population boom. Or maybe they always had vast amounts of children but now affluence is catching up? Interestingly, the wedding dress styles are predominantly Western, even the models, and the baby clothes, toys and prams on display could be right out of any Toys R Us. I can only imagine that modern population levels in historically unpopulated regions are going to lead to terrific social change, especially if you add Western-style TV to the mix. How can people be satisfied when some are riding donkeys & others are driving Mercedes on the same road? The next generation will further increase the pressure on production of food & desire for modern prosperity. Technology had better come up with the answers.
