Yeah, war is coming. You and Islam vs. Modernity.
Commodification, consumption, marketing itself as personal liberty. Got it. Sometimes people die for what they believe in sometimes they just cave. There is no uberman. Fly too close to the Sun and youll get burned too. What a delusion is the Faustian wager. As if that is what it all means to be a good man.

Dude, I touched the sun; Liberty is what allowed that. In Theistland, I would have been burned at the stake.

p.s. I’ll measure my family against any theist; you up for it?

Here’s an interesting perspective...

I read Nietzche young, before introspection. I actually wondered what it would take to be an ubermensch? I came up with a plan and I did it. For a 16-year old, that’s not hubris, it’s naive optimism.

Having a plan and accomplishing a goal isn't hubris. Stating that you've done everything is.

From our perspective we will all be measured.

One of the convincing factors for me was this weird relationship between the Christian and the atheist. The atheist is very keen to somehow prove that his metric of living is superior to the Christian, whereas the Christian is neither impressed nor interested in proving anything of the sort to the atheist. In a related way of looking at it, Daralon once told me about an intellectual he read who once remarked that the atheist is so full of certainty whereas the Christians are still plagued by doubts.

I think if you have to prove to everybody your life was not only worth living but somehow better than everybody else's life, then it could be possible you are unhappy with it. Where the Christian seems to come out ahead is that they acknowledge, duh, of course you are going to be unhappy with this life no matter what you do.
