Every community has their values. Down in Texas football is everything, in Chinatown education is everything. In the Amazon hunting monkeys with blowguns tipped with frog poison is everything. One can't expect people who don't share one's values to be impressed by one's accomplishments. If one desires renown, one must either accomplish something they respect or change their values.
