Where are the Democrats?

Whenever you see one of those political affiliation maps around election time, it’s always a sea of red with little blue dots, which are the big cities. I’ve always wondered why some of the blue dots seem to be moving, especially around the coasts? Now I know; my wife, Gwynne and I, went on a Mexico cruise with our daughter and her family, and I can categorically state that cruise ships are where the Democrats are. It was a huge ship, 40000 passengers, most of them women, a lot of them wearing masks, lots of motorized scooters barreling down the narrow aisles. I could tell it was Democrat food at the buffets; lots of vegetarian dishes and gluten-free choices. I could tell the shows were for Democrats, and the activities, and the entertainers. Before Wokeness, I used to be a Democrat so I have a sense for these things. I’m also resistant to the irritations that Republicans feel when they have to brush against Democrats casually. This makes me the perfect cruise-goer because I simply stake out a place on deck and make it my own, full relaxation mode, no contact with other people. Otherwise, I’m in my room entertaining myself; reading, writing, watching movies on the cruise tv. I sometimes wonder if all the other cruisers can tell I’m not a Democrat now?
